Interactive Map of Tarim 1 Lime Plaster Production Making Mud Bricks
We are begining to document the historic buildings and social geography of the city of Tarim spatialy through an interactive map . At this point, we have mapped the buildings targeted for the project by quarter (according to the Quarters Names of the Peoples Republic of Yemen).

You may view images of the Al Kaf family palaces we will be working on as well as several other private houses by selecting "slide show." You may also see the layout of the mosques and other public buildings on the map. The placement of the Al Kaf family palaces and layout of the traditonal quarters are coming soon.
These pages will take you through the process by which lime plaster is produced in the Hadhramaut Valley. Select "find out more" to begin the animated lesson. Each frame stays on screen for ten seconds, but you may pause the lesson at any point. Select the magnifying glass icon to enlarge the images. If you wish to return to a particular frame, select from the images at the top of the page.
