Biography
Coco Martin is an experienced free lance visual artist and photographer born in Peru. He originally obtain his BA in Architecture and Urbanism in Lima. This knowledge allows him to make use of a special sensibility for composition and visual aesthetics. Since 1991 he performs exhibitions and develops his visual art work parallel to his work on request.As a web designer and multimedia has developed many projects. COCO MARTIN’s work was exhibited at the First Biennial of Photography of Puerto Rico (1998), Second Biennial of Lima, Peru (2000) and at the Biennial of Photography of Quito, Ecuador (2001). Additionally his work has been exhibited and published in Peru, Spain and throughout Latin America such as El Salvador and Argentina and has numerous group exhibitions. He is founder of Openphotoperu.com, the first web-collective of artists and photographers in Peru. After 8 years as a professor of photography in a private School of Visual Arts in Lima, COCO MARTIN relocated and now lives and works in New York City.
